About Westgate:
Since 1973, the Westgate Child Center has been committed to providing high-quality education and child care in the DC metropolitan area. As a non-profit organization, the center is licensed by both Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide full-time and before- and after-school care for children ages 2.5 to 12. |

Our Philosophy:
Through carefully planned play-based activities, our programs focus on each child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs in a stimulating yet warm and caring environment. Our center maintains an excellent child-teacher ratio of 6:1 during structured learning hours. We are proud of our low child-teacher ratio, which enables our trained professional teachers to focus on each child's individual needs and talents.
Westgate also boasts a long tenured staff, with average tenure of our teachers being over 10 years. Westgate Child Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, disability, or national/ethnic origin. We are non-sectarian, non-profit, and non-discriminatory. We believe in equal education, attention, and care for all children without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or disability.
Our Programs:
Westgate’s full-day and half-day programs are divided by age into classrooms based on age and the child's birthday. Each classroom is brightly decorated and organized into different activity centers and filled with educational, age-appropriate toys and materials within reach of children. Our curriculum also includes fun and educational on-site activities and field trips (when feasible) throughout the year that are planned to match the seasonal themes and lesson plans. Parents are encouraged to participate when possible! Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided each day, per the USDA recommended nutrition program.
