The Lightning Bolts
Half Day Preschool: Ages 2 1/2 - 5 years
Our Half-Day preschool program, referred to as "The Lightning Bolts" follows a preschool curriculum, which includes age-appropriate phonics lessons, math concepts, shapes, colors, and arts & crafts in a mixed age group setting. These activities are planned around weekly themes. This is a great way for children to be introduced to preschool and get some of their first experiences in interaction with children in a mixed age group while learning. Children enjoy library , circle time, outdoor play in our spacious playground, reading sessions, music, and introduction to Spanish. Our curriculum also incorporates an introduction to technology through supervised use of iPads loaded with age-appropriate and engaging, educational applications.
Sample Schedule for Half-Day Program:
9:00- Welcome/Circle Time
9:30- Small Group Activities (art, phonics, writing, technology)
10:30- Outside Play
11:00- Hand Washing, Potty Time
11:15- Free Center Play
12:00- Story Time
12:30- Lunch
1:00- Potty and Clean Up
1:15- Rest time
1:45- Hand washing/potty time
2:00-Sensory bins
2:30-3:00 Closing circle/ Story time
